NewsGlobal EcoVision Award 2021 - GOLD for binderholz
Every year, the Austrian Economic Chambers awards companies that push Austria's economic upswing through their international activities.
The Global EcoVision Award goes to Austrian companies that contribute to a sustainable environmental and climate protection with its innovative technologies, products and services. It puts particular emphasis on projects that contribute to the preservation and expansion of Austrian companies’ technological edge, serve as international role models and actively contribute to making Austria’s economy more international.
In the context of the “Exporters’ Nite” during the 19th Export Day 2021, binderholz was awarded the Global EcoVision Award for its INTRO Project in Cleveland | USA involving the construction of a 9-storey featuring 288 flats and an integrated shopping centre set to become the largest solid wood project in the US. A total of 5,650 m³ of binderholz CLT BBS and 1,500 m³ of binderholz glulam originating from sustainable forest management are used. The entire transport of binderholz solid wood elements was organised by rail from the production plants to the port of Amsterdam. From there, the elements will be shipped across the Atlantic and the St. Lawrence River directly to the port of Cleveland.
Companies are nominated for the Global EcoVision Award by AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA. An expert panel selected the winners among all applicants. The Award was presented by Economic Minister Margarete Schramböck and Harald Mahrer, the President of the Austrian Economic Chambers.
