Working at binderholz
In 1957, Franz Binder, sr. founded the since then existing independent family business binderholz as a small “one-gate sawmill” in Fügen in Zillertal of Tyrol.
Today, more than 6,000 employees are working at the overall 60 company locations in Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Finland and the USA, producing contemporary solid timber products and biofuels of the highest quality. The production sites thereby offer a great variety of diverse work fields and career opportunities in industrial wood processing. The binderholz group has become one of the biggest solid timber producing companies in Europe. Both in the treatment and in the processing of the quite essential raw material wood, and with regard to our present and future employees, we are centrally oriented on the concept of sustainability.
Our family-owned company purchased all assets of Klausner Lumber One LLC, located in Live Oak, Suwannee County, Florida on Friday, August 21, 2020. For the binderholz group, this step is a further milestone in the company's history and it’s also for the first time that binderholz will produce outside of Europe. The new location in the center of Florida is located in one of the best growing areas for the species Southern Yellow Pine, which is in high demand in the USA. This ensures a high availability of logs at a very stable price level. In addition, the eastern part of the USA is one of the most populous areas in the states, so that the corresponding demand is also available on the sales side. The American solid wood market is a strategic target and growth market for the binderholz group. The USA are by far the largest consumer of wood in the world - with an increasing demand. The sawmill Live Oak has a cutting capacity of over 1 million m³ | 35 million ft³ of round timber and a further processing capacity of over 500.000 m³ | 17.6 million ft³ of sawn timber and planed goods.
For the start of our production and further expansion of our new location in Live Oak, we are looking for employees who want to help shaping the success story of binderholz in the US with commitment and dedication. Join us, if you want to support binderholz in using 100% of the raw material wood in accordance to our zero-waste-principle.

Our working regions
As diverse and multi-facetted as our product range are also our working regions - all have in common a very good infrastructure, and appealing sports and recreational offers - for the best possible use of the time off work and social networking.
Tyrol | Austria
The Fügen and Jenbach sites of the binderholz group ae located at the “heart of the Alps” in Northern Tyrol. This is where you see mighty peaks, authentic landscapes and many valleys such as the Zillertal and Achental. A well-developed infrastructure that also includes the state capital Innsbruck offers a large variety of possibilities for recreation and sports.
Salzburg | Austria
Three sites of our corporate group are located in the state of Western Upper Austria. Salzburgerland is known for its numerous lakes and Salzburg, the city of Mozart with a historic district that is part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage. It is also the place of the famous annual Salzburg Festival.
Bavaria | Germany
Our two sites Burgbernheim and Kösching are located in the south of Germany in the state of Bavaria - a region that is very strong economically set in an appealing landscape. Kösching is just 10 km away from Ingolstadt. The former fortress town is by now a modern large city with about 130,000 residents. The region around Burgbernheim is called Frankenland and it is characterised by the traditional culture and pretty surroundings. The small town “Rothenburg ob der Tauber” with its world-famous medieval historic district can be reached in a 15-minute drive. The nearest large city is Nuremberg 65 km away.
Baden-Württemberg | Germany
In this region in the south west of Germany, binderholz took over the Oberrot and Wolfegg sites of the Klenk-Holz Group in 2017.
Oberrot is located in the nature park “Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald” at the Fichtenberger Rot, in the predominantly Franconian north east of Baden-Württemberg, about 12km south-west from the district capital Schwäbisch Hall and 65 km north-east from the state capital Stuttgart.
The district capital Schwäbisch Hall has a historic centre and it is known for its old salt spring. Beautiful landscapes, castles and fortresses invite to stay.
The municipality of Wolfegg is a climatic healing spa town and located in the middle of the district of Ravensburg. The hilly alpine upland is characterised by its intense grassland agriculture, dozens of ponds/swimming lakes, and the largest continuous forest area of Upper Swabia. Enjoy the view of the mountain range of the Bavarian, alpine upland and Swiss Alps from the town outskirts - an extraordinary cultural and recreational offer makes Wolfegg a cross-regional attraction.
Brandenburg | Germany
The former Klenk site in Baruth is located in this region in the east of Germany, south of Berlin, in the district of Teltow-Fläming - in the direct vicinity of the local logwood.
You can see many sights in this historic town, e.g. the town parish church of St. Sebastian, Baruth Castle or the Soviet cemetery of honour. But the region that is set in this pretty landscape also has to offer many opportunities for recreation and sports such as numerous climbing parks, kart tracks or the “Tropical Island”, a tropical theme park.
North Karelia | Finland
Located in this Finnish region in the north of Europe, the production sites in Lieksa and Nurmes as well as the administrative site in Joensuu have been integrated in the binderholz group since January 2016. The impressive number of 2,200 beautiful lakes makes this area in Finland at the Russian border particularly special. Besides numerous cultural recreational offers, diverse winter sports are offered for (winter) athletes: jet ski, alpine skiing, rafting, hiking, dogsledding or snowshoeing - just to mention a few of the possibilities - or simply enjoy the picturesque surroundings and observing the impressive flora and fauna.
