Our Thermo Pine is the right choice for those who prefer local to tropical wood while setting high standards in terms of durability and aesthetics. Thermal interaction with heat and steam changes the physical and chemical properties of the wood. It becomes more weather-resistant and dimensionally stable. And all of that without the use of chemicals. In contrast to untreated wood, Thermowood is ideally suited for use on façades. It is characterised by its warm, golden-brown hue. At 212 degrees Celsius, our Nordic pine is heated to the core, which significantly increases its resistance to weathering. The wood becomes lighter, harder, more dimensionally stable and assigned to durability class 2. The heat treatment makes it impossible for fungi, wood-destroying insects and decomposing micro-organisms to live on it. binderholz THERMO PINE Properties • Durability class 2 (permanent) • Weatherproof • Free from chemical additives • Resin-free • Dimensionally stable • Very easy to work with • Uniform brown colour, even when cut to size • Recyclable Care If you want the brown colour of your Thermo Pine to stay, the wood must be treated immediately and regularly with wood oil. If you prefer a grey patina, don‘t treat it at all and the wood will turn grey over time due to UV radiation. This product’s ecological advantages are no less convincing. The absence of chemical agents means that no harmful substances can wash out or evaporate. Thermally treated pine is disposed of or recycled in the same way as untreated wood.
