Reducing truck journeys through Zillertal Valley

After the successful start of rail transport of logs from Jenbach to our sawmill in Fügen, sawn timber and pellets are now also transported in the opposite direction. This saves an additional 4,000 truck journeys per year.

Since we started rail transports last year, 2,899 freight cars have transported 120,146 tons of round logs from Jenbach to Fügen. Thus, we were able to transfer more than 12,000 truck journeys onto rail in the first year alone.

Now, sawn timber and pellets are also transported by rail from Fügen to Jenbach. This year, a total of around 220,000 tons of timber transports will be carried out in cooperation with Zillertal Railway. This way, we moved some 22,000 truck journeys annually off the B 169 Zillertalstraße and the Inntalautobahn (A12).
