NewsRail transport of CLT BBS flatpack walls to the Netherlands
To be used on the 5-storey One MilkyWay project in The Hague, our CLT BBS flatpack walls were shipped from our plant in Hallein to the Netherlands via rail. These highly prefabricated wall components are used as flat partitioning walls and ensure quick construction, simple installation and high sound insulation. A total of 30 flats are built in this way.
To transport upright walls, binderholz has developed special transport racks. These allow for shipping via rail and lorry. The new transport system's special feature is the fact that the prefabricated walls are loaded onto the rack and perfectly secured in the production hall. Up to 3.3 m tall, the walls are only secured to the rack itself, which makes loading them onto a rail car or flatbed trailer a matter of minutes without the walls being touched in the process.
For project One MilkyWay, most of the products were delivered to the construction site by one electric lorry. This way, we are able to minimise our carbon emissions.
