Port Operations Manager USA

Your responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing all port warehouse operations in the USA
- Leading and participating in operational meetings with ports, terminals, and vessel representatives
- Supervising cargo loading, unloading, and handling operations
- Ensuring accurate stevedoring documentation and operational reporting
- Monitoring and reporting delays, cargo discrepancies, and damages
- Optimizing cargo stowage, storage, and cargo flow processes
- Ensuring high quality standards while minimizing cargo damages
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with vessel crews, port authorities, terminals, stevedores, agents, and service providers
- Negotiating rates and additional service agreements with stevedoring companies
- Working closely with stakeholders to optimize warehouse utilization and cargo turnover
Your profile
- Maritime and/or lumber industry background with operational experience
- Strong understanding of port and cargo operations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across cultures and operating environments
- Strong organizational, IT, and time-management skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage tight deadlines
- Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
